London 24th July 2017: The Grierson Trust welcomes Soho House’s Purchasing Director, Gina Richmond to its Board of Trustees.

Chair of the Board, Lorraine Heggessey says, “I’m delighted to welcome Gina as the newest member to The Grierson Trust Board. Her expertise in partnership building and sponsorship will be invaluable to the Trust as will her passion for all things film, television and broadcasting. I very much look forward to working with her over the coming months, especially as we start the build up to the 2017 Grierson Awards in the autumn.”

Gina Richmond started her career in sports sponsorship working globally on F1, golf, tennis and sailing. However, spending all year travelling the world with a wheelie bag as a constant companion left no space for ‘life’, so she moved into the telecoms world.  Gina managed Orange’s portfolio of arts partnerships across the literary and film world. From the Orange Prize for Fiction to Orange British Academy Film Awards to leading the launch of Orange Wednesdays in 2004. Gina later moved to BAFTA to develop the brand partnerships across film, television & craft, gaming & children’s entertainment, before joining Nick Jones’ growing empire in 2015 where she focuses on commercials, logistics, stock control and strategic relationships.

Gina joins fellow Trustees Liz Brion, Judith Chan, Jo Clinton-Davis, Alex Cooke, David DeHaney, Liesel Evans, Amy Flanagan, Briony Hanson, Tom McDonald, James Quinn, Sanjay Singhal and Andy Whittaker.

The Grierson Trust was established in 1972 in memory of pioneering Scottish filmmaker John Grierson. The Trust actively seeks to promote and celebrate documentary film and television production through screenings, workshops, training and mentoring schemes. It recognises the cream of documentary-making through the annual British Documentary Awards each November. More information about the Trustees and the work of the Grierson Trust can be found at
